Max Training
formed when Noonan Strength Systems (see NSS Story) and Cormax (see Cormax Story) fused together in December of 2008. On this day we committed ourselves to change the face of training for everyone. At this time Dom had only worked with the athletes while Cormax had worked with both athletes and general public. We knew we had something special happening here. The combination of the Cormax equipment and NSS program design allowed us to make training programs for everyone that were ultra affective, had amazing results, and allowed us to accomplish the work in half the time of a normal training program. More time for everyone to enjoy what they love to do. When we committed ourselves to changing the future of working out, this meant for everyone, general public, athletes, special needs, and everyone else that can benefit from working out. We had one simple goal. Professional trainers and researched effective training programs for everyone. The days of over charging and under supervising clients are over. Max Training is changing the way you workout.
Max develops and designs all of the training programs that our clients use. Everyone has a personal trainer on some level. Some clients need a higher level of instruction while some just need a little guidance and prefer to work on their own. We supply everyone with exactly what they need to achieve their goals. The days of turn style training is done, clients are no longer viewed as a dollar sign or as a number on a spreadsheet. Max train clients are all important to us, we take the extra step needed to make sure everyone is happy with their training and if they are not we make proper adjustments to correct that. All of our clients have different goals, some play professional sports, some need to lose weight, some need to lower blood pressure, some are recovering from cancer, some just want to feel better, we are here to make sure each and everyone of them achieves their goal. It is our mission to help people achieve their life goals, and we will make sure that happens. We guarantee success to anyone who sticks to our training guidelines, and we back that with a money back offer.
Dominic had owned and ran Noonan Strength Systems since the summer of 1998, he also began teaching at MSUM in 2008, and this is where he met Abby Barker. During his class there was always one person who was willing to go above and beyond everyone else. During class one day Abby expressed the idea of opening her own gym someday. This was going to be the first satellite of Max Training. We began looking in a few local towns that were in need of a high quality training facility. After three months, they decided that they were a great team and should join forces in the FM area and work together on the Max Training idea. This was the first day of Max Training. This unique combination allows Max Train to research and design programs for everyone. Its not just athletes anymore, it’s for everyone. They have a program for you. Are you ready?
Max Training goals for the upcoming years are to continue to bring high quality to training to you. Max train is also excited to open high quality training facilities through out the upper Midwest and bring the max training style of training to everyone who needs it.
Noonan Strength Systems
began as two brothers looking into the world of athletic training from the outside;
they knew they wanted to get in. Dominic was a junior at Moorhead State University
majoring in Exercise Science. Ben, his older brother, was just finishing his Masters
Degree in Exercise Physiology at St. Cloud University. Together, they knew there
was something missing from Fargo-
They both agreed
that athleticism was the key ingredient to building the ultimate training facility.
Once an athlete improved his/her athleticism, this would directly transfer over to
increased performance on the playing field, no matter what sport the athlete was
training for.
Many training facilities were focusing on one single aspect of training:
speed, power, or strength. The Noonan brothers wondered, “What good is strength without
balance, balance without speed, and speed without strength?” Each seemed to be an
integral piece to the puzzle of becoming a complete athlete. This is where NSS built
its foundations for training athletes.
Once the brothers of NSS figured out where
they wanted to take our athletes, they had to find the correct path to get the athletes
to unlock the athleticism that was trapped inside their bodies. Noonan Strength Systems
is never satisfied performing the same drills over and over; they are constantly
researching and updating the programs.
We are continually researching and implementing
new ideas and training methods. It is a path that many athletes find hard to follow
and adhere to. We don't just train athletes; they become part of our training family.
Once they become a NSS member they learn that it's not just about hard work, but
that many underlying factors contribute to how well they perform during their sport.
We preach the ideas of proper nutrition for an athlete, staying hydrated at all times,
and proper sleeping habits to let the body fully recover for the next workout or
for the next game. It's not just about going through the motions; it's about becoming
a
That initial idea has grown and grown, yet we still take the
time to know each one of our athletes on a first name basis. The athletes really
get to know the trainers, and the trainers find it both a pleasure and a necessity
to know the athletes. We have come to expect a lot of our athletes, and they can
expect the same out of us. We are the same local training facility that many athletes
have gotten familiar with, but we have changed some in the past years: Ben has graduated
from Yale medical school and is looking forward to becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Dom has surrounded himself with an unbelievably talented group of trainers. The future
is bright for NSS and for you too.
Cormax
In the early 1980s David Karlstrom started a company called LifeStyle Fitness. He manufactured and sold free weight equipment to colleges, high schools, and junior high schools. In the later 1980s the equipment line was expanded to include weight stack machines. In the early 1990s David's brother, Kent, joined Lifestyle Fitness and they developed a line of rehabilitation equipment that was marketed and sold in Kansas, Florida and Texas. They then designed and manufactured equipment for other companies that were looking for sports specific training equipment. This later endeavor started Dave and Kent on a quest to build higher quality, high performance training equipment.
David -
David and Kent spent the next three years developing equipment capable of allowing the average athlete to perform these "core" Olympic lifts safely.
In 2003 David designed a hydraulic cylinder that could retard the movement of weight under gravity but still permit free movement against the force of gravity. In other words, with the new cylinder, athletes could now perform ballistic lifts with maximum safety. May 27th, 2003 he applied for a patent. When David and Kent saw the efficiency of this new type of equipment, they decided to open their own training facility to use as a working showroom, continuing to develop and refine the Cormax line.
The training center is also used to develop and apply training protocols for the many athletes of different ages that only this equipment can efficiently train. The working showroom has been an integral part of the ongoing relationships Cormax has formed with various professional and college teams. These relationships are a valuable asset from which other colleges, high schools, and junior high schools can benefit.
September 12, 2006 Cormax received a patent for its innovative, "one way" hydraulic cylinder. Sales of our maximum intensity training equipment started at the top with sales to the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Kent -
For the last two years Dave and Kent have been working to develop electronics that perfectly compliment each piece of equipment in the Cormax line. This marriage of customized electronics with the world's only ballistic training equipment will allow coaches and trainers to more accurately assess the progress of their athletes and enhance the development of more beneficial protocols.
